Since Thunder Threads has such a large inventory of Hastelloy fasteners, we have been known throughout our industry as the company to turn to when searching for hastelloy products.  Although founded by Haynes International, Inc., the trademark depicts a wide range of nearly twenty two different highly corrosion-resistant metal alloys that has been known to many as "superalloys” or "high-performance alloys”.

The primary alloy in hastelloy is usually nickel. Other ingredients such as molybdenum, chromium, cobalt, iron, copper, manganese, titanium, zirconium, aluminum, carbon, and tungsten are added to each of the subcategories of this trademark designation to produce a few of the hastelloy subgroups.

Hastelloy fasteners primary use is in high-temperature and high-stress service, in a moderately to severely corrosive, and/or erosion prone environment where most readily available fasteners would fail.  Such uses include pressure vessels of nuclear reactors, chemical reactors, distillation equipment and pipes and valves in chemical industry. This is the primary reason why hastelloy fasteners hare used throughout the world in some of the most corrosive environments.

Alloy Types 
Hastelloy BDue to its outstanding corrosion resistance HASTELLOY B-3 alloy is an additional member of the nickel-molybdenum family of alloys with outstanding resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures.

Hastelloy B-3 is in the nickel-molybedenum family of super alloys that has characteristics or resisting corrosion to hydrochloric acid at all temperatures and concentrations.  Hastelloy B-3, while quite rare, is a great material for its anti-corrosion properties. 
Hastelloy C-2000
The petrochemical and power generation industry has recognized  Hastelloy C2000 fasteners for its corrosion resistant properties for decades.  It is a super alloy that is comprised of a nickel-chromium-molybdenum C-type alloy.  
Hastelloy C-22Thunder Threads understands that HASTELLOY C-22 is an outstanding and versatile alloy with better corrosion resistance than other nickel-chromium- molybdenum-tungsten (Ni-Cr-Mo) alloys found in the industrial marketplace today. hastelloy C-22 also has great resistance to a broad range of chemical process environments.  Such applications include oxidizers such as ferric and cupric chlorides, chlorine, hot contaminated solutions (organic and inorganic), formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, and seawater and brine solutions.
Hastelloy C-276 Fasteners Thunder Threads™ recognizes  Hastelloy C-276, which is a very popular alloy for us, as  a nickel-molybdenum-chromium wrought alloy.  It is usually considered a very versatile corrosion-resistance alloy. Hastelloy C276 or C-276 fasteners are made from an alloy that has improved wrought version of alloy C in the fact that it usually doesn't need to be solution heat-treated after welding.  In addition it has an increased amount of fabricability. Characteristics that has made the alloy popular is the fastener industry is that HASTELLOY C-276 fasteners has an excellent resistance to a wide variety of chemicals such as strong oxidizers such as ferric and cupric chlorides, hot contaminated media (organic and inorganic), chlorine, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, and salt water and brine solutions.
Hastelloy C-4 Hastelloy C-4 is an alloy with outstanding high-temperature stability as evidenced by high ductility and corrosion resistance even after aging in the 1200 to 1900°F (649 to 1038°C) range with an oustanding resistance to chemical process environments.
Hastelloy G Hastelloy G offers a great corrosion resistance to oxidizing acid mixtures and phosphoric acids.  Better yet Hastelloy G-30, a high chromium nickel alloy) is cappable of deliverg great corrosion resistance in applications better than many other nickel and iron based alloys when exposed to acids such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric, and other highly oxidizing acids.  

Hastelloy X HASTELLOY X alloy is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy used in the hastelloy fastener industry  because it  offers a superior resistance to corrosion, its fabricability and it is applicable in high-temperature environments.
