Alloy 20 Fasteners

Alloy 20 is considered a nickel-chromium-molybdenum stainless steel alloy which has a wide variety of uses within the sulfuric acid industry. Alloy-20 fasteners are highly resistant to many other chemicals. Also known by many as Carpenter 20, these fasteners are desired by many engineers because they are resilient against pitting and chloride corrostion from sulfuric acid. Alloy20 fasteners are stock items for thunder threads in bolts, nuts, studs, washers, cap screws, and socket head cap screws

Thunder Threads™ acknowledges Alloy 20 as a "Super" stainless steels alloy that has an excellent resistance to acid. It is primarily comprised of the following elements: nickel, chromium, molybdenum and copper. Alloy-20 fastners is used by many throughout the chemical industry since they are highly resistant to chlorideon stress corrosion cracking and pitting. Alloy-20 fasteners are readily available through Thunder Threads since the alloy has great mechanical properties.

Alloy-20 fasteners have been known to even resist the harsh environments of boiling sulfuric acid at 20 – 40% concentrations. It is for this reason why the food, dye, chemical, paper, and other industries turn to Thunder Threads™ for Alloy-20 fasteners.
